01/03/08:

Hello everybody!

I'm currently moving back to Vermont from the Seattle area and I'm getting ready to record the new Magus CD, the first in 6 years. How time flies! All of the songs are written and arranged and ready to record. There will be quite a variety of styles on this release. I also wrote 5 new songs this year with the lyrics adapted from late 19th and early 20th century poems by British poets. I'm very excited about recording these!

As I type this, I am at my friend Terry's house near Lake Tahoe in Nevada for a brief visit and will continue my journey by car across the USA. Tomorrow I hope to drive the "Alien Highway" across part of Nevada. This is Highway 375, of which I named some songs and an EP of, which I've always wanted to experience. If I see any extraterrestrials I'll let you know.

I finished my "Book of Revelation" project last April and it's available on Amazon.com under the band name WHITE TOWER. I worked for 3 years on this and hope that it stirs up some interest. Please check it out...

It's been a while since I have posted anything and I just wanted you all to know I'm still alive and making music.

I'm also very pleased to see that this site has recently hit 20,000 visits.

Hope you had a great Christmas and may 2008 bring good tidings for you and your family and friends.

peace

Andrew

11/25/05:

Hello everybody! It's starting to get very cold here in Vermont and it snowed Thanksgiving morning. I started mixing tarcks for the upcoming "Book of Revelation" CD. It features the narrative voice of a man named Paul Grout over 75 minutes of Magus instrumental music, new and old. I'm very happy with the results so far and will hopefully complete the final mixes before New Year's day. I won't be releasing it as a Magus CD and haven't decided if I'm going to market it on the "Prog" scene. I will keep you posted...

peace

Andrew

9/27/05:

Big Balloon Music has finally released the new Magus compilation "Lucid Dreamer". It contains the original "Traveller" album the way I intended it. Also included is the entire "Highway 375 EP" as well as two live tracks from 2000 that were previously unreleased.

"Lucid Dreamer" can be purchased at http://bigballoonmusic.com/.

I'm currently mixing an epic project: The Book of Revelation narrated by a man named Paul Grout over 76 minutes of Magus music. I probably won't release this as Magus and won't be marketing it on the progressive rock scene, although it is very progressive in nature. I'll keep you all informed about how the mixing is progressing over the next few months.

Back to work...

Andrew

02/24/05:

Last night Bryce Chicoine and I compiled the tracks for the next Magus release now officially entitled "Rif". It's 48 minutes of the "Traveller" CD combined with the "Highway 375 EP" and a live track recorded in 2000 with Steve Perkins and Rue Yamauchi. It will come out on the Big Ballon label in a few months.

11/25/04:

A few weeks ago I sadly learned of the passing of Gary Strater. I knew he had cancer but hadn't heard from him in a while. He played bass on a song from the "Garden" CD and we talked about doing a full project together, along with Starcastle guitarist Bruce Botts. I met Gary and Bruce at Nearfest 2001 when we shared a merchandising table together. I felt an instant connection with Gary and really enjoyed hanging out with him at the table and the dinner we shared with my friends Tammi and Steve at an Indian resteraunt.

When I was 14 I bought the first Starcastle album when it came out . I loved his bass playing so you can imagine what a thrill it was for me to get to know the man. He seemed to me to be a very spiritual man and I understand he faced death bravely and never wavered in his belief of a here-after. God bless you Gary.

Andrew 11/25/04

November 2003:

The "Traveller" CD will be rereleased sometime in early 2005 on the Big Ballon Label. It will have the altered song order I talked about earlier plus the entire "Highway 375" EP as well as a live cut from a 2000 performance in Vermont. I'm also working on a new project at the moment that may see the light of day soon. I'm pleased to see the number of hits on the site is nearing 10,000. Please feel free to email us, we'd love to hear from you...

11/10/04:

Hello everybody I'm back! I know it's been a while since I have written. Lately I've been working on finding a label that will rerelease the TRAVELLER CD. I would like to release the CD the way I originally intended it back in 1997 before the label I was on made me change my song order and include a few pieces I didn't think worked. My version is:

  1. Traveller
  2. Until the Sun Burns Out (7:00 version)
  3. Khyber Pass
  4. Nostradamus
  5. Spanish Waters
  6. 108 Steps to Babaji
  7. Rif

"Spanish Waters" was a song I originally intended to include but I didn't get the voacals done in time. I feel this version works really well and will be MUCH more cohesive. Total time is about 54 minutes. This is the album that really defines the Magus sound.

I've had an ear infection for about 3 weeks now and can't hear much out of my left ear. I'm very concerned about this and will be trying stronger antibiotics to clear it up. I look forward to the day when sounds comes streaming back into my ear again!

The site is nearing 10,000 hits and I'd like to thank Chris Stankowski again for keeping it going.

Andrew 8/12/04

Summer 2003:

Hi everybody! The website is nearing the 5,000 hits mark and should be there soon. Thank you again to Chris Stankowski for all your hard work and dedication to make this site possible. It wouldn't exist without you.

I travelled to the Philippines last month and visited the island of Palawan, as well as Manila and a mile high city called Baguio. My travel companion was a beautiful woman named Imelda DeLeon whom I plan to marry soon. It was a real eye opener visiting a country like the Philippines where there is a HUGE gap between the poor and the wealthy. Every citizen of a western country should visit a place like that at least once in their lives. But it was also very beautiful and exotic in places and I had a great time. I'll post some photos of my travels in the near future.

I hope you all had a great summer and I hope to start mixing the live CD soon.

peace

May 2003:

Spring is here and I've been doing alot of hiking before the insects make their reappearance. I find it very inspiring to go up in the hills and mountains. I plan on doing some travelling later in the year, possibly to Ireland or Scotland. Amsterdam, Iceland, and the Greek Islands are also on my list of places I want to explore.

Besides the upcoming live CD, I'm also considering releasing a remastered collection of instrumentals from all the Magus CDs. This would include all the pieces left off of the "Echoes From the Edge of the Millennium" collection, though I'll probably include the full album versions of "Rif" and "...and the River Joins the Sea...". Other pieces that may be included are: "108 Steps to Babaji", "Highway 375", "Dune", "Illuminati", "Sea Without a Shore", "the Man Who Killed the River parts 1+2", "Green Earth", "the Shepherd", "Sailor on the Seas of Fate", and of course "the Stone Circle". Hopefully thay will all fit on a 74 minute disc!

I've been listening to alot of music lately and have rediscovered RUSH. I bought "Counterparts" on cassette used for $1 and have been really getting into it,especially the track "Alien Shore". I was a big fan until I kind of lost interest in the mid 80's. But I'm now realizing how good their late 80's and 90's output was, particurly compared to all the new crap that's on the market. I also purchased Rupert Hine's classic "Immunity" on remastered CD. He's one of my favorite producers and a real pioneer of sampling and electronics. His website is www.ruperthine.com . It's a very innovative website filled with comments and interviews from the artist himself. I've also rediscovered the first four Joni Mitchell albums now re-released on remastered CD. I love her debut album "Song to a Seagull" and often listen to it's enchanting sounds as I drift off to sleep. "Dawntreader" is one of my favorite songs. There's something very magical about STAS.

Happy birthday BOB!

April 2003:

I've decided not to attend Nearfest this year. The reason is, my overhead is very high (travel, lodging, food, table rental, ticket, loss of wages from having to take off shifts from my day job) and I have too sell ALOT of CDs to come close to breaking even. Also the promoters doubled the price of table rentals. I really enjoy attending Nearfest, but I also have to be fiscally responsible in my business dealings. In other words: I'm not going to "play for free" anymore!

Because of not attending Nearfest, the release of the live CD will be delayed for a while but will come out in the near future.

I've been listening to several CDs that I recently purchased:
- Sylvian/Fripp "Damage" this is Sylvian's new mix of the '93 concerts
- The Verve "Storm in Heaven","EP", and "No Come Down" 90's Brit rock
- Jansen, Barbieri, Karn "Playing In a Room With People" live CD from former JAPAN members

Thank you again to the people who have purchased "The Garden".

Let there be peace...

March 2003:

Hi! The trip to Baltimore to transfer the live tracks was a success. I drove down and back in the same day-15 hours total in the car. Steve Perkins dropped by my studio a few weeks ago and listened to the tracks with me and took some notes.I'm very happy that Steve is enthused about the project and I hope to have it completed by the beginning of May. A Nearfest 2003 release is planned.

I've been having alot of fun playing with my friends in the cover band. We just learned and rehearsed Edgar Winter's classic song "Frankenstein". I'm sure it will really kick live. The new Dennis DeYoung-less Styx CD,"Cyclorama"was in my car player for 3 weeks straight! I had lost interest in Styx years ago when Dennis started doing so many sappy ballads and Tommy Shaw left the band. I saw them at a concert with Kansas around '97 and my interest started up again until I heard the uneven(at best) "Brave New World". Now with the great Lawrence Gowan replacing DeYoung the band has never sounded better and actually works and writes together...like a band! What a novel concept! Highly recommended, especially the song "One With Everything", a look back and forward to the band's artrock roots. Lately I've been listening to Eddie Jobson's "Theme of Secrets" CD.

Thank you again to Chris Stankowski for all the time and work he has put into this website. It wouldn't happen without him.

The world needs peace not war.

February 2003:

Hello everybody! I'm getting ready to make the trip down to Baltimore to transfer the live Magus tracks onto my machines. I've never mixed a live CD before and it should be a fun experience.

Besides Magus, I'm also playing bass guitar/pedals and singing lead vocals with a prog/classic rock cover band to keep my playing together. My old friend Pete Nichols, who I've performed with on and off since 1977, is the drummer and Tony Speranza the keyboardist. Pete, Tony, and I also were part of the pit band in a 1980 production of the rock opera "Tommy".

We'd rehearsed for the last year and a half but had been unable to find a suitable guitarist until a few weeks ago. A guy named Chris Devine walked in last week and won the gig hands down. Not only is he a great guitarist, but he's equally adept on flute, 5-string electric violin, and sax. He toured Europe and Eastern Europe last year as part of Ritchie Blackmore's Night. I really look forward to performing with him. Our repertoire so far includes "Karn evil #9", "Your's Is No Disgrace", "Carry On My Wayward Son", "Come Sail Away", and about 20 other songs. "Firth of Fifth" is in the works. The sky is the limit...

I just bought a Danelectro Longhorn Bass and I love it!

There's an interview with Gary Strater (who contributed some bass playing on "the Garden") at www.bassinside.com/2003/february/strater.htm. He talks a bit about music, metaphysics, and... Magus!

January 2003:

Happy New Year! It's very cold in Vermont right now, but we've had a brief respite from the deluge of snow that fell over the last few weeks. I've had to delay my trip to Orion Studios in Baltimore to transfer the live tracks to my machines. I now plan on going down in late February. Since the concerts that were recorded happened in 2000, I'm now thinking about calling the CD "LIVE2K". As you may have noticed I'm always changing my mind! Rehearsals for the new Magus lineup began last week and it felt great to play the songs again.

Andrew 01/16/03

December 2002:

The Green Earth CD is now sold out and the only titles available from Sky Pines Music are "the Garden" and "Echoes From the Edge of the Millennium". I hope to reissue "the Green Earth" next year and I plan on remixing and remastering the "Magus" CD and remastering "Traveller" and resequencing the track order over the next few years.

I'm getting ready to mix the live CD. Most of it will be from the performance at the Orion Showcase in Baltimore. I will also be including 2 tracks recorded when Magus opened for the California Guitar Trio.

I've been listening to the new KANSAS live CD "Device,Voice,Drum" which has a great selection of songs from throughout their long career. They even included 2 songs from their self-titled debut album and a few things from "Masque". Also in my CD player have been Tangerine Dream's "Goblin's Club" and 16(!) CDs from Swedish bands that Hansi Cross of Progress Records in Sweden sent me to settle an account.: 3 FLOWER KINGS, 2 KAIPA, ROINE STOLTE, 2 GALLEON, ANEKDOTEN, BO HANSSON, GRAND STAND, 2 CROSS, VALINOR'S TREE, and WHITE WILLOW.

I wish you all a peaceful holiday and I'll talk to you next year!

Andrew 12/18/02

November 2002:

The "Highway 375" CD is now out of print. This will not be re-issued because 2/3 of it is also on "Echoes..." and I plan on eventually re-releasing the rest of the tracks on a future compilation. Thank you to everyone who purchased the "Highway 375" disc!

In the works is a live album of material culled from the Orion Showcase performance of 2000. I contacted Steve Perkins, the drummer during this performance, and he's very enthusiastic and wants to take part in this release. A concert at the Hooker-Dunham Theater in Brattleboro, Vermont was filmed that year and I'm considering syncing the images with some of the Orion performance and adding visuals. The Brattleboro show was recorded with only the camera mics and the quality of the sound leaves alot to be desired. I'm currently looking into the DVD process...

I've been listening to King Crimson alot lately after purchasing "USA" and the infamous "Earthbound". Although I like all incarnations of KC, the "Sinfield years" are still my favorite. There's a certain magic on those albums that I think was lost on later recordings. But even so, I still like most of their work from throughout their (Fripp's) long career.

I hope to have another live Magus lineup in the near future if I can find the right people. We'll see...

Andrew 11/10/02

October 2002:

Hello!

Autumn is here and I've been singing and playing alot of acoustic guitar and performing at the local open mic night on Thursdays at the Mole's Eye Cafe. I usually play an original and a few covers in the 20 minute time slot I get. It's a great place to try out new material and to stay in touch with live performance. And it's usually packed with people! I hope to one day do a solo tour of Europe and the British Isles.

I've read a few reviews for the new Magus CD ,"the Garden", and they've been positive. I'm very proud of the work and of the guest performances. Everybody gave 100% and it shows.

Lately I've been into Bob Dylan, Al Stewart, Jefferson Airplane, and the Waterboys. I saw Al at a small intimate bar a few weeks ago and he was exellent. After the show I met and chatted with author Neville Judd, who just released a biography of Al entitled "the True Life Adventures of a Folk Troubador". I preordered the book through Amazon.com but have not yet recieved it. Every few years I remember the genius of Bob Dylan and delve into his work. He has such an enormous catalogue of music that it will be a lifetime's effort to soak it all in! I bought the somewhat overlooked "New Morning" and the live "Hard Rain" a few days ago. "Hard Rain" I had bought on vinyl when I was 14 but it had long since vanished from my collection. It's a live document of his gypsy like Rolling Thunder Review days in the "Desire" album era. I also bought Paul Kantner's "Blows Against the Empire", a concept album from 1970 about 7,000 young people hijacking a spaceship from the government and setting out to search for a better way of life. I loved this work when I was a kid and I still do. It's nice to have it on remastered CD. It features a virtual who's who of the San Francisco music scene and some great piano and vocals by his then partner Grace Slick. This inspired me to start exploring Jefferson Airplane, who I really don't know that much about.

That's about it for now. Thank you for purchasing "the Garden" and I hope it takes you somewhere...

August 2002:

Hello travellers

It's a very hot summer here in Vermont and I've been swimming alot to keep cool. I'm still waiting to hear feedback on "the Garden" from listeners and critics. It's always strange, the month or so immediatly following the release of a new CD, waitng to hear a response after so many months of intensive work. I suppose ultimately it doesn't matter as long as I'm happy with the results, but musicians make music for people to hear and I hope people enjoy and find meaning in the music. Please feel free to email me and tell me your thoughts and impressions.

I saw YES last friday near Boston and it was a truly amazing and moving performance! I've seen them at least 20 times and this was surely in the top 3. Last year when I saw them with the orchestra I found it less than satisfying. This year, with the return of Rick Wakeman, they seemed totally revitalized and fresh. And they played "South Side of the Sky"!

Andrew 8/6/2002

July 2002:

Hi everybody !

I've been relaxing a bit after working hard for months on the new CD. I attended Nearfest and it was great to see some of my friends. I also really enjoyed La Torre Dell'Alchemista, Nektar, Hackett, and especially Caravan. I had heard of Caravan for years but had never actually heard the music. I was very blown away by their ensemble playing and instrumental breaks!

I'd also like to thank everyone who purchased CDs at Nearfest and I'll probably be there again next year. I'm thinking about releasing another compilation CD which will include most of the remaining tracks from "Magus", "Traveller", and "Highway 375" that didn't make it onto the "Echoes From the Edge of the Millennium" collection, as well as choice tracks from "the Green Earth" and "the Garden" and maybe an unreleased selection. I would also like to include the full remastered 20 minute version of "Rif". I probably won't be reissuing "Magus" and "Traveller" which are now officially out of print. 2002 also marks the 15th year that Magus has been in existence.

I've been in a Van Der Graaf Generator phase lately and am just as amazed with the "Pawn Hearts" album now as I was at 13 when I borrowed it from the local library! I really want the box set. What a fantastic, unique band...

Andrew 7/10/02

June 2002:

Hello!

The new Magus CD is finally completed! I had it mastered on May 13th, but had to do a few corrections. Toby, the mastering engineer, left for Germany the next day so I had to wait until June 10th to fix it. It's cutting it close, but it will be back in time for NEARfest. The CD, entitled "the Garden", is, in my humble opinion, the best one of all new material that we've done to date. It stylistically covers alot of ground: electronic, folk, world music, heavy rock, space rock, "modern" rock, gothic, post-punk, symphonic, etc, etc!! I look at it as a bridge connecting the past, present, and future of progressive rock. It's also very important for the future of Magus that this release does well. My fingers are crossed...

I had the pleasure of working with eight different guests including Gary Strater of Starcastle, Lynnette and Nathan from The Red Masque, Tomas Hjort of the Swedish band Cross, and a keyboardist from my hometown named Jesse Cross-Nickerson, who collaborated with me on several songs and wrote and performed one section solo. He's also nearly completed an opera based on an Edgar Allan Poe story. Lynnette and Nathan also co-wrote the first section of the last song with me.

If you were one of the people lucky enough to score a ticket for NEARfest, stop by the Magus vending table and say hello!

Andrew 6/11/02

May 2002:

Hello!

I'm currently mixing the upcoming Magus CD which I'll be mastering on May 13th. Mixing is a long and sometimes frustrating process(especially when one is gifted/cursed with being a perfectionist like myself) and I'm about half way finished.

Gary Strater of Starcastle sent me his bass parts and I must say they are quite impressive, giving the song he played on a whole new dimension.

I bought a copy of Jethro Tull's "A Passion Play" CD and I'm quite fascinated with it. It's the only Tull album from the 70's that I'd never heard until now. It seems like sort of their equivalent of "the Lamb Lies Down On Broadway". A very challenging yet rewarding listen and it hasn't left my car CD player all week. I've also been listening to a group called Talk Talk from the 80's. They went from being an early 80's New Romantic synth pop band to being one of the most non-commercial art rock groups in less than 6 years!Kind of a backwards Genesis! Their "Spirit of Eden" album is a landmark work. Also recommended: "Laughing Stock","Colour of Spring", and "Natural History".

Andrew May 1st, 2002

April 2002:

Hello everybody :-)

I've almost completed all the tracks for the upcoming Magus CD now with the working title of "the Garden". I finished my last vocal this morning and may add a few more keyboard textures here and there now that I have a good overview of what everything sounds like. My recording unit has been occasionally acting strange and last night it spontaniously erased about 2 measures of an acoustic guitar track. I was able thru a little wizardry, toil, and sweat to fix it.

Lynette and Nathan from THE RED MASQUE are scheduled to do some sessions next week. I really look forward to working with them. Also a keyboardist named Dan DeWalt is doing a session next thursday.

I know this sounds a bit surreal folks, but an advertising agency in Venezuela licensed the right to use my composition "Illuminati" in a Quaker Oats commercial! This will pay for the graphics and manufacturing of the new CD. It's amazing how things work out in life sometimes!!!

Thanks for cruising through the Magus site and I'll talk to you soon...

Andrew 4/03/02

March 2002:

Yet another message from Andrew Robinson:

Hello everybody! Tomas Hjort took the train up from Manhatten last friday (March 8th) and we spent the weekend recording the final drums. He did a superb job and was very enthusiastic throughout the long session. I'm very happy with everything he played and the CD is about 80% recorded now. We had some very interesting philosophical conversations and I hope to be able to hang out with him again sometime.

I fell today on the ice while jogging in the forest with my dog and bent my left index finger quite a ways back. Hopefully I'll still be able to play guitar because I have a few more parts to record.

Bad timing!

Andrew 3/12/02

February 2002:

Message from Andrew Robinson:

Hi everybody! The recording of the upcoming Magus CD is coming along nicely and should be finished right on schedule. I've recorded most of my instrument tracks and now will be tackling the vocals and bringing in the guests. Tomas Hjort from the Swedish band Cross will hopefully be drumming on most of the songs and a phenomenal guitarist named Joe Boyle is scheduled to play most of the lead guitar. I also plan on bringing in a few others including maybe a female singer to sing a few parts.

I'm very excited about this album which will include a 26 minute epic entitled "the Garden", a conceptual piece in 13 parts.

I've been listening to Todd Rundgren alot lately while driving in my car. Also,I've recently discovered the author Micheal Moorcock and am reading the "Elric Saga" as well as "City in the Autumn Stars". A fantastic writer. He also has done collaborations with Hawkwind and wrote the lyrics to Blue Oyster Cult's "Veteran of a Thousand Psychic Wars".

It's very cold right now here in Vermont and I think I'll get back to my studio and get to work!

Andrew 2/11/02

February 2002:

An interview with Andrew Robinson is going to be published in the March English issue of Progressive Newsletter. Please follow this link to view it www.progressive-newsletter.de

January 2002:

Andrew is still recording the basic tracks for the upcoming Magus CD. The working title is "Escape From the Circle", although this might change. It will feature a 20 minute+ piece entilted "the Garden" - a concept about a post apocalyptic future. He hopes the album will be available by NearFest 2002. Andrew has been listening to Daevid Allen's 2nd University of Errors CD lately. Classic Daevid!

November 2001:

Andrew recently completed the demos for the next Magus CD and sent a copy of them to Swedish drummer Tomas Hjolt, who may be drumming on and possibly co-producing the project with Andrew. Tomas played drums and produced the last CD by the Swedish band Cross. He now lives in NYC. Andrew hopes to complete the CD by May 1st, 2002.

Lately Andrew has been listening to the latest Waterboys CD, "A Rock In the Weary Land". The album is very surreal in parts, with modern production values and exellent writing. It's very different then anything Mike Scott and company have attempted before. But isn't that what progressive music is all about?

June 2001:

Andrew Robinson rented a table at NEARfest 2001 and promoted the new MAGUS CD, "the Green Earth". He enjoyed meeting and chatting with MAGUS enthusiasts as well as introducing many prog fans to the world of MAGUS.

Andrew met fellow Vermonter CHRIS STANKOWSKI who kindly agreed to design this cool website! Hats off to Chris!!!

GARY STRATER of Starcastle, the great American prog band from the 70's, shared the table with Andrew and they became quick friends. Gary is a wonderful man and a great bassist and he was promoting the latest STARCASTLE release, "Chronos 1".

As far as the performers at NEARfest, WHITE WILLOW and the CALIFORNIA GUITAR TRIO were Andrew's favorites. NATHAN -ANDREW of the group "the RED MASQUE" gave Andrew a copy of thier CD and he's quite impressed...

Spring 2001:

"the Green Earth" was recorded between February and May of 2001 at Andrew's SKY PINE STUDIO. It was originally intended to be a solo album while waiting to make the new MAGUS CD with RUE YAMAUCHI and STEVE PERKINS. The formerly mentioned people left the group, so Andrew decided to make "the Green Earth" the new MAGUS release. Old friend TIM LUNDBERG played some blazing guitar solos on three tracks. Another longtime asscociate, Jon Barris, drummed on two of the tracks which he also co-wrote. Also making guest appearances were TONY SPERANZA (who directed a performance of the rock opera TOMMY which Andrew played bass for in 1980) on organ, PHIL BLOCH on violin, and BOB STABACH on flute. Andrew's dog "KYRA" shook her dog tags on track 5! I challenge the listener to find it...

Musically, "the Green Earth" covers a large range of styles including folk, techno, ambient, symphonic, celtic, and of course progressive rock.

February 2001:

MAGUS keyboardist RUE YAMAUCHI left the band to devote more time to his wife and making money (not necessarily in that order). MAGUS were ready to record the new CD when Rue decided to leave. Drummer STEVE PERKINS vowed to carry on the band with Andrew, but also quit a short time later.

Andrew continues to make music and MAGUS his #1 priority and will not let this obstacle stop him!

December 2000:

MAGUS performed at the ORION SHOWCASE in Baltimore, Maryland. There were a few technical difficulties (the band's fault, not Orion's!) but it was a good time and only the second time MAGUS has played to an all-Prog audience, the first being at the Rock and Roll Cafe in NYC. It's wonderful when people really listen! Andrew thanks Mike Potter as well as Chris and his wife from OF SOUND MIND for all their help. It was also great to see the now shaven head Nathan-Andrew again!

September 2000:

Rue Yamauchi rejoins MAGUS!

MAGUS performed an opening set for the CALIFORNIA GUITAR TRIO. The band performed "Arrakis-Dune-Desert Planet, part 1", "Fall of the Empire", a Rue Yamauchi piece, and the full 20 minute version of "Rif".

June 2000:

Rue Yamauchi leaves MAGUS to devote more time to his wife and make more money (not necessarily in that order). This shocks the remaining members but they decide to carry on regardless.

May 2000:

MAGUS perform their first concert with the Robinson/Yamauchi/Perkins line-up. The show is a big success and the band is optimistic and excited...
